What People Say

Since joining our programme as a freelance business advisor in 2023, Elsa has been a guiding force for our small businesses. With her unique ability to nurture and challenge entrepreneurs, she has become an integral part of both our start-up and accelerator programmes. Working with her has been both a delight and an inspiration.

Elsa’s calm voice and highly intellectual expert advice during the sessions of ‘Ask the Experts’ was PRICELESS!!!
The subject on focus – “How to Add an Extra Income Stream to Your Business” certainly helped to give me a better understanding of how I should be looking to increase my revenue streams.

Thank you so much Elsa

I’ve known Elsa since 2018 when she was coaching and mentoring entrepreneurs at PBC. Elsa has a kind and supportive nature and offers great business advice in a down-to-earth way that has helped so many including myself to develop.

In 2019 she supported my training events in Brentford and chaired sessions covering a range of business and marketing topics. All the attendees commented on how well the events were run and her insights really helped to pull everything together perfectly.

Since then I have worked with Elsa to get my first IOEE mentoring qualification and this summer (2022) she ran a mentoring session for my new business, The Counsellors’ Staffroom with great results. All I can say is thank you and I hope to work with you again in the future.

Elsa led our Peer Network group funded by Herts Growth Hub with great care and sensitivity. She managed to create a safe space for the group to share their challenges and we all built trust with one another over zoom. Not something that many are able to do! But Elsa facilitated our sessions calmly and professionally whilst also encouraging us to each use the Active Learning model for questioning. It took time but a real rapport between members was created as we helped one another to achieve our goals and solve problems. Thanks Elsa!

I first met Elsa through the peer networks she hosted, arranged through Herts Chamber of Commerce.

Elsa is great at getting people from all walks of life to challenge their preconceptions and strategies, as well as bringing people together, building bridges and seeing a potential collaboration here or a melding of minds there.

Both online and in person, Elsa is a force to be reckoned with and she has added growth to my charity through getting me to look at ways to streamline things and long term, through the networking she is rightly insistent on having made me do! Elsa adds huge value when it comes to business advice – for both business growth and personal development.

Elsa is your imagination, your muse, your inner voice – only external. She makes you step back, take a breath and look at what you’re doing through calm eyes. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Before I joined the ‘My Life Mix’ course with Elsa, I lacked the confidence and skills to set up my own business. In particular, I’d always been somewhat afraid of spreadsheets, financial management and budgeting (having often been able to ‘outsource’ these elements to others when employed and part of a team). Going it ‘alone’ felt scary and overwhelming, but Elsa gave us a road map towards setting up and launching our businesses, breaking down the overwhelming parts (including the dreaded finance stuff) so that it felt more manageable. Before I knew it, I not only had a business plan but clear accounts to manage my income and expenses. I can honestly say when it came to submitting my first tax return, it was easy (and I NEVER thought that’s a word I’d use in relation to anything finance-related).

My connection with Elsa Caleb goes back to the early 1990s when we both worked as small business advisers in London. We were members of the professional body, the Institute of Business Advisers (IBA), and representatives on the London steering committee. I found Elsa’s approach to her work refreshingly current, considering many in business advisory work at that time had honed their experience in the early 60s and 70s. Elsa was one of the industry champions, and has continued to be a champion for strong standards of support delivery.
She and I have remained in touch over the 25 years, meeting at conferences and through small business campaigns to encourage more women and young people to be their own boss. Whilst I headed into enterprise PR (with a little mentoring thrown in), Elsa has continued to build an impressive portfolio of clients, from local enterprise agencies, the Grenfell Project and more recently the University of East London. During the latter programme, Elsa involved me as one of the online delivery partners. It was a delight to work with her again.
Elsa approaches all her work with professional integrity and transparency. She completes the necessary tasks – and often goes beyond contractual requirements. Above all, she is an excellent team member and sees her clients and partners as all part of the whole project community. I’d have her batting for me any time!

Every once in a while somebody you know, like and trust just hits the right spot. That person for me is Elsa Caleb, I have known Elsa for over 20 years – thank you. Right now most business owners are facing a pandemic brick wall. For me it felt similar to the wall that can stop you physically and mentally in your tracks when running a half marathon. Elsa always helps me to discover the one thing I can do through re-winding, re-thinking and re-focusing from a new perspective. Be prepared to think the unthinkable, reach out for some support and soon we can all get back on track with our business and our lives.
